Welcome and thank you for coming! Kathy and I want you to know that we love to teach YOU. We love to learn from our students, and know that without you, the student, we wouldn't be able to teach. Each class taught live and on-demand is meant to inspire you to find the connection between mind and body so that we can live a healthy, strong, balanced, and joy-filled life outside your class experience. Our goal for you is to experience yoga and pilates at YOUR individual pace in order to reach YOUR goals. We are grateful for you and we hope you find the support and find joy in moving your body. Take some time to roam around as there are options for yoga, pilates, cardio, meditation, weights. All kinds of equipment is added to challenge you and provide you with a variety of movements.
A little about me:
I found mat pilates about 25 years ago. When I was training for triathlons and the Chicago marathon, I knew the importance of core strength. Unfortunately, after 3 knee surgeries and 3 herniated discs in my low back due to the pounding/impact of running, I had to step back and find new sources of fitness enjoyment.
I found the pilates reformer and took 4 years of reformer classes.
Realizing how much I enjoyed the mind/body experience of pilates and yoga, I began my career in yoga and over the course of 2 years became 200RYT through Yogafit. I am 14 years into my Yoga teaching now and am a 500RYT. While still enjoying the reformer, 12 years ago I became certified to teach pilates mat and reformer through Balanced Body.
On my last day in a week-long, intensive yoga training, I practiced next to a fellow yogi. At the end of our hour and a half long practice, she thanked me for practicing next to her, as she felt it calmed her energy. She explained how she saw streams of silver beaming from my heart. When I came home to tell my family, they encouraged me to name my studio, Silverheart. That’s where it all began…
